The Jo Burt Experience

Multi-instrumentalist Jo Burt has doubtlessly left his imprint on Rock music. After playing with seminal punk band Sector 27 over 30 years ago, Jo went on to play with Virginia Wolf in the late 1980s. Boasting the like of Chris Ousey on vocals and drummer Jason Bonham (son of Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham) within the line-up, Virginia Wolf released 2 albums and toured extensively. Jo was later asked by Toni Iommi to join the ranks of Black Sabbath and embark on a memorable tour. Ironically Jo was replaced by Geezer Butler, Black Sabbath’s original bass player.
Jo’s musical skills were in constant demand and in the 1980s he played with musicians as diverse as Bob Geldof and Kim Wilde. He also played bass guitar in the solo recordings of Freddie Mercury, late vocalist of Queen. He rocked the crowds in venues such as Wembley Stadium, the Royal Albert Hall and even the Ark Royal aircraft carrier.
Recently, Jo felt the need to express his own musical ideas and so formed The Jo Burt Experience. The line-up includes drummer Andy Treacey (Faithless, Dido, Moby, Robbie Williams, Groove Armada, Tom Robinson) and guitarist Dzal Martin (The Equals, Terry Reid, Tom Robinson, Van Morrison, Meatloaf).
